High-Density Liquid Cooling for AI, HPC, and Mission-Critical Server Racks

High-density compute clusters, GPU accelerated artificial intelligence servers, and blade enclosures generate thermal dissipation exceeding 20 kW to 55 kW per rack—well beyond the physical cooling limits of traditional raised-floor perimeter CRAC units. The Rittal Liquid Cooling Package (LCP) family provides targeted, localized thermal management directly at the server level, capturing 100% of heat dissipation before it enters the data center room.

LCP Rack vs. LCP Inline: Tailored for Every Data Center Architecture

Rittal offers two distinct architectural configurations: LCP Rack: Creates a completely sealed, airtight closed-loop cooling circuit with one or two bayed VX IT server racks. Hot exhaust air from servers is drawn directly into the heat exchanger, cooled, and blown back across the front of the servers at the exact setpoint temperature, achieving IP55 enclosure protection and zero room noise. LCP Inline: Installed directly within a row of bayed server cabinets, expelling cooled air into a contained cold aisle and drawing hot air from a contained hot aisle, maximizing energy efficiency for open-row data center suites.

Chilled Water (CW) and Direct Expansion (DX) Options

For large enterprise facilities with central chilled water plants, LCP CW utilizes water/air heat exchangers controlled by motorized proportional 2-way regulating valves, achieving exceptional PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) ratings under 1.15. For edge data centers or distributed installations without chilled water loops, LCP DX integrates an inverter-controlled variable-speed brushless compressor with an external air-cooled condenser, dynamically modulating cooling capacity from 20% to 100% to match instantaneous IT server loads.

Hot-Swappable Redundant EC Fans and Multi-Layer Leak Protection

Continuous uptime is guaranteed through an array of redundant, high-efficiency EC (Electronically Commutated) axial fans in an N+1 configuration. In the rare event of a fan issue, individual fan modules can be replaced hot-swappable in seconds without tools while the IT servers remain fully operational. Multiple leak-detection sensors along the condensate tray and piping connect directly to the automated shutoff valve and alert the facility BMS via SNMP, Modbus, or BACnet.
