Professional Solid Copper Busbar Fabrication for Power Distribution Enclosures

Fabricating custom copper busbar systems for low-voltage switchboards and power distribution panels requires tremendous hydraulic force, uncompromising dimensional accuracy, and strict operator safety. The Rittal Copper Workstation CW 120 combines cutting, round/slotted hole punching, and precision bending into a compact, mobile industrial workstation designed specifically for panel builders and switchgear manufacturers.

Triple Functionality: Cutting, Punching, and Bending in One Station

Eliminate clutter and time wasted moving heavy copper stock between separate stationary machines. The CW 120 features three dedicated machining stations powered by a high-pressure 700-bar electro-hydraulic power pack. Operators can cut solid copper bars cleanly without chips or waste, punch clean round or oblong bolt holes, and bend sharp 90-degree offsets on bars up to 120 mm wide and 12 mm thick.

Digital Precision Angle Measurement and Springback Compensation

Achieving exact angles in heavy copper bars is challenging due to varying material temper and elasticity. The CW 120 bending station incorporates a digital electronic angle sensor. Once the target angle is entered on the digital display, the machine compensates for natural material springback automatically, guaranteeing identical, repeatable bends on batch production runs without manual guesswork.

Integrated Optical Laser Centering and Safe Ergonomics

To ensure perfect hole alignment with switchgear connection terminals, the punching station is equipped with a high-visibility optical line laser that projects crosshairs precisely onto the punching center mark. Extendable lateral roller conveyors support long, heavy busbars with minimal operator strain, while integrated pull-out drawers capture metal punch slugs and offcuts cleanly.
