A reliable electrical switchboard starts from the ground up. The Rittal Base/Plinth System VX combines all functions of an enclosure base into a highly modular, heavy-duty foundation. Engineered specifically for VX25 baying enclosures, VX SE standalone cabinets, and AX compact panels, the system elevates the enclosure above floor contaminants, creates valuable routing space for incoming field cables, and reinforces mechanical rigidity during transport and seismic events.
Forklift Transport Without Wooden Pallets
Switchgear manufacturing logistics require moving heavy panels safely. The rugged corner pieces of the VX base/plinth are engineered to handle the full static and dynamic weight of fully equipped enclosures (up to 15,000 N). Forklift trucks can lift and maneuver the entire cabinet suite directly under the corner pieces, eliminating the need for wooden shipping pallets and simplifying shop-floor transport.
Tool-Free Snap-In Trim Panels with Integrated Brush Strips
Closing the base plinth no longer requires tedious screw fastening. Trim panels snap firmly into place between the corner pieces using patented locking latches and can be detached in seconds for cable pulling or maintenance access. For automated data center and switchboard rooms, trim panels with integrated brush strips or ventilation louvres provide seamless bottom cable ingress while preventing vermin and large debris from entering.
Internal Cable Clamping and Baying Symmetry
The interior of the Base/Plinth System VX features standardized 25 mm system punchings identical to the main VX25 enclosure frame. Standard punched sections, C-profile cable clamp rails, and EMC grounding brackets mount directly inside the plinth space. When baying multiple enclosures together, internal plinth baying brackets bridge the suites securely without creating external gaps or tripping hazards.
